VAAFM Awards $200,000 in New Local Food Purchase Assistance Grants

Vermont Company Journal The Vermont Company of Agriculture, Meals and Markets (VAAFM) announces a next list of grant awards from a new aggressive round of Regional Meals Obtain Aid (LFPA) funding. Close to $200,000 will be awarded to nine businesses that have assorted assignments to purchase from socially deprived Vermont farmers and producers and distribute to underserved neighborhood associates throughout the state.

Awards involve $50,000 to SUSU Group Farm to start an expanded absolutely free CSA program for BIPOC people and new refugees $37,319 to Conscious Homestead to expand their Local community Treatment Share Program to distribute locally grown and created meals from BIPOC-operated enterprises to users of Black and Brown communities and $25,500 to Wholesome Roots Collaborative to obtain and distribute community foodstuff to 20 Northwest Farmacy CSA recipients and 8 NOTCH Clinic mini-fridges.
