UTA students earn awards for transportation research – News Center
Nine College of Texas at Arlington college students have gained coveted Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowships from the U.S. Division of Transportation. The students occur from UTA’s School of Engineering College or university of Architecture, Preparing and Public Affairs (CAPPA) and College of Organization.
“I am fired up about this new team of Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship college students and the continuation of what has been a extremely effective partnership with the U.S. Division of Transportation,” mentioned Laureano Hoyos, a professor of civil engineering who manages the fellowship software at UTA.

The UTA recipients are engineering pupils Kelly Patterson, Kelli Greenwood, Anika Rimu, Taryn DiLorenzo, Ehiremen Ebewele and Eder Fuabuna CAPPA college students Victoria Kiker and Alyssa Knox and organization scholar Saulo Aguilera. Awards ranged from $1,500 to $10,000 per scholar, with Patterson ($10,000) Greenwood ($8,500) and Rimu ($7,000) obtaining the premier awards.
The mission of the Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Plan is to catch the attention of the nation’s brightest minds to the industry of transportation, advance transportation workforce enhancement and retain major expertise in the U.S. transportation sector. Fellowships are merit-centered, and 150-200 are usually distributed nationwide each 12 months.
Hoyos and the Middle for Transportation Fairness, Conclusions and Dollars (CTEDD) administer the application at UTA.
