UNC hosts 38th annual Martin Luther King Lecture and Awards ceremony

“Finding our Way Forward” was the theme of UNC’s 38th yearly Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture and Awards ceremony, held in Hill Hall on Wednesday. The concept signifies the progress the Black community has produced in healing from the last couple many years in The united states, as properly as continuing the battle for racial justice.

University student Entire body President, Taliajah “Teddy” Vann, started off the occasion with remarks pertaining to King’s teachings and legacy.

He has earned the name “Black America’s Attorney General” for his dedication to social justice, civil legal rights and equality for the Black group.

“We have a moral obligation to oppose injustice,” Crump said. “Dr. King mentioned that you simply cannot phone on your own a fantastic individual and see injustice and then search down the other way,” he said.
