Tyga Thinks Latinos Are Just Lowrider-Driving, ‘Spicy’ Gordos

Ever given that YG’s “Go Loko” went viral in 2019, Tyga has been hoping to recreate that lil crossover instant once again and all over again and again with Latin-encouraged songs like “Ayy Macarena” and “Mamacita.” And his most recent hard work, “Ay Caramba,” has (as soon as once again) failed, drawing criticism from Latino creatives more than the song’s accompanying music online video, which is filled with reductive stereotypes and racist tropes the standard community allow go of years back. En pocas palabras: what the fuck is Tyga considering?

The online video starts off with the rapper — in a body fat match, naming himself “Gordo” or “fatty” — having a bag of tortilla chips and guacamole even though viewing a Mira Quien Baila-esque dance competitors exhibit hosted by the rapper carrying a cartoonish mustache. (He’s going for “Mexican Telemundo host,” we think.) He then plays a dancer named Spicy Rico as he will make an try at a Chicano accent, expressing, “Oye, yeah you. All I preferred was to dance.”

The excess fat go well with character then cruises in a blue lowrider just before he cat-phone calls Latinas and dances in front of his automobile as tortilla chips fly. (“This is disgusting.” mentioned TikToker Gordita Corajuda in a online video.)

“Man, these n—s acquired me fucked up,” claims Tyga in the online video, bringing back again the faux accent. He also gets Latinos perplexed with their colonizers as he poses in entrance of a mariachi band when carrying a matador outfit and raps, “No way, José, Alright/My bae lookin’ like Rosalía.” (She’s pretty much European, but go off.)

Latino creators on the Brown Bag Podcast named out the rapper in a latest movie, with 1 of the hosts, Letty Peniche, indicating, “If you are gonna go Mexican, have a Mexican homie inform you this is Mexican, this is not Mexican, you’re jumbling it all together… Is he performing this for the reason that he thinks we like it?”

Hate to break it to you, Tyga, but we don’t like it. And the lyrics are really trash, also. Apart from comparing Latinas to Tabasco warm sauce — the brand launched in Louisiana by a white guy — Latinos don’t even use the phrase “Ay caramba.” Upcoming time, Tyga should try out “ay cabrón,” “chingada madre,” or potentially “para de usar nuestra cultura en tus pinches movies.”

Take it from an OG: YouTuber American Cholo known as Tyga out for lessening Mexican individuals to staying “fat and greasy.”

“Imagine for a second, a white male executing this to an African-American, or doing this music,” he explained in a video. “They would be in the streets screaming. Fuck that, fuck Tyga.”

Tyga is no stranger to featuring Latin-impressed seems in his tracks. He did so in the earlier with “Ayy Macarena,” which sampled the iconic Nineties music and showcased a verse from Ozuna. He also bought Santana to hop on “Mamacita” along with YG — all after the accomplishment of “Go Loko.”  He’s also showcased on Latino artist tracks like J Balvin’s “Loco Contigo” and Reykon’s “Latina” with Maluma and Becky G.

But the variation this time is that when YG introduced “Go Loko” with Jon Z, the movie did not poke exciting at Latinos. Alternatively, the visible paid out homage to Los Angeles’ Mexican and cholo society, highlighting backyard kickbacks, lowriders, piñatas, and Chicano avenue design.  YG even threw on a red mariachi match in a way that was tasteful.

Tyga is merely just a further example of a inventive ready to chunk off a distinctive tradition when it looks profitable for them. It is not even “cultural appropriation” at this level. What he’s performing is decreasing Latinos to stereotypes the common public stopped getting Ok with several years ago. As rapper CNG set it, “Y’all wanna fuck with our society, appropriate? Effectively, where by the like at.”

It’s time Tyga experimented with one thing new with his music. The Mariachi minute may have labored with “Go Loko,” but it looks like he’s the one heading loco trying to make that viral instant transpire yet again. It’s only not doing work. Búscale por otro lado, Tyga.
