Nova Scotia Wines Receive Award for Excellence
4 wines been given the 2023 Lieutenant-Governor’s Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines during a ceremony at Authorities Dwelling today, July 19.
“The track record of Nova Scotian wines is thanks to the perform of talented persons who are dedicated to the expansion of our wine sector,” stated Lt.-Gov. Arthur J. LeBlanc. “Their passion is reflected in the high quality of their wines, and I am happy to identify the important and ongoing contributions of winemakers represented in the course of this award period.”
Wineries throughout the province submitted up to three commercially obtainable wines created with 100 for every cent Nova Scotian grapes. An impartial panel of specialists participated in a blind tasting of all wines to select the leading submissions for the award.
The recipients are:

- 2016 Brut Réserve, Blomidon Estate Winery, Canning
- 2022 Tidal Bay, Gaspereau Vineyards, Gaspereau
- 2016 Blanc de Noirs, Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards, Wolfville
- 2020 Luckett Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, Luckett Vineyards, Wolfville.




The award is administered by Style of Nova Scotia and Wine Growers Nova Scotia in partnership with the Office environment of the Lieutenant-Governor.
